All About Us
Hi! We are Greg and Lisa Cook, and we are the owners and founders of 4e Winery in Mapleton, North Dakota. 4e Winery grew out of Greg's passion to craft quality wines from pure northern prairie ingredients. What started as a "what if" ten years ago became this crazy dream we have been living since we first opened the doors of the tasting room in July of 2015.
Greg's "other" career is as the chair of the Chemistry department at North Dakota State University. When he's not at NDSU or making wine you will probably find him in the kitchen whipping up some amazing plant-based creations or working on video production for his popular plant-based YouTube channel, "The Pot Thickens."
Lisa is most often found in the "front of the house," visiting with customers, many who have become friends, and taking way too long to get to the point of whatever story she has to tell. When she's not pretending to be an introvert at the winery you can probably find her absorbed in whatever creative pursuit she is obsessed with at the moment.
Although we are not native North Dakotans, having moved from our home state of Michigan in 1996 for Greg's job at NDSU, we have adopted this state as our own, falling in love with its people and finding beauty in the Red River Valley that we now call home.
We invite you to visit us at the winery, and we'd love to share a story or two. Good wine, good food, and good friends. What else can we ask for? --- Cheers!
